Transarterial Chemoembolization (TACE)
TACE is a minimally invasive procedure, meaning it is associated with only a small surgical intervention. It is primarily used for liver cancer and liver metastases.
During this procedure, a chemotherapy drug is directly infused into the area of the tumor using an infusion catheter. This allows for a highly localized effect of the chemotherapeutic agent while largely preserving the overall health of the organism.
